Jainkallu Gudda
This is one of Charmudi’s most challenging expeditions. Found in a range of hills called Charmudi, this rugged Western Ghat trail will show you the best of the rains as the monsoon replenishes these hills. There are two trails to take while at Jainkallugudda. The first is a more strenuous one that goes straight up the hill; the starting point for this can be found at the Annappagundi Temple which is behind the ghat. The second trail begins from Bidurtalabetta. Jenu means Honey, Kallu means stone and Gudda means hill. This place is a viewpoint in the Western Ghat, which offers a panoramic view of the hills packed one behind the other. Jenukallu Gudda is situated 17 Kms from Yellapur.
